Santa Fe Event Photography | The Santa Fe Opera's 'The Golden Cockerel'

Despite having lived in New Mexico for more than four years, I had never attended the Santa Fe Opera until this past week when I was invited to photograph an InstaMeet hosted by Simply Social Media.

For the last three years, Simply Santa Fe has partnered with the opera to allow local residents to not only attend a dress rehearsal of an upcoming opera but to tour areas of the opera normally unseen. (And, it's free.)

After enjoying a picnic tailgate, and before their exclusive performance of 'The Golden Cockerel', attendees had a very special opportunity - they were able to tour the opera's costume storage facilities, a room full of color, texture and Instagram-worthy photo opportunities.

Following the tour, attendees were also able to relax, to snap selfies, and to order the opera's 2017 signature cocktail - The Nutjob, a New Mexico twist on a Manhattan - while getting the inside scoop on the opera, from it's set and projection designers.
