Creating Cards with Carta Bella's Flora No. 1
The florals in the latest Carta Bella collection may have made my heart beat a little faster when I first saw them. Then, I realized that I had no idea how to use them in my scrapbooking.
Then, it came to me: cards.
If I'm being honest with you, I've never made a handmade card before but the sentiments in the collection's stamp collection implied that this collection was just made for it. Plus, May is full of special occasions - graduations, Mother's Day, and what feels like an awful lot of birthdays.
I created two cards but with just the collection kit, I could have created dozens - for each of those collections. I chose to go with a 3.5x5 card as well as a 4x6.
For the first, I took one of the collection's journal cards and layered it with florals and stripes. I also covered the back of the folding card in a pink pattern.
I attached the top layers of the card to the base using dimensional foam stickers to give it some added depth.
I also created a matching envelope with my Stampin' Up punch board. There's just something so fun about floral envelopes. As you'll see later this month, they're kind of my favorite.
I kept things even simpler for the second card. I used one of the collection's 4x6 cards and added a few rose gold brads as accents. I also lined the left hand side of the card with a gold and white striped border stick that came on the 12x12 Sticker Sheet.
Wouldn't this design be darling for a graduation card?
